An update from David Crosweller CEO (and lifeling Gooner) of Wherever The Need - Arsenal Australia's Charity for this year.

Hi Graham,

Trust you are well.

At long last I am able to let you have some photos of the water filters the supporters club bought.  We actually bought two per family, although the club bought one of these.  So you provided one to each of the families in the village of Sengal Odai, near Cuddalore in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu, south east India.  These people are incredibly poor and our survey has shown on average each family has an income of approximately AUS$6 per week.  Fortunately we have a donor who is raising money to help with toilets and some form of livelihood scheme, so the next year should see their lives improve enormously.  However, this first step of providing actual drinkable water is enormous beyond our wildest imagining.

Thank you is never enough in these circumstances, but please pass on my thanks to your members.

I think the attached are self explanatory:

1. The original water hole;
2. A woman drinking directly from the water hole;
3. The many water filters;
4. A filter with the water hole water at the top and the clear, drinkable liquid below.

Thanks, David
