He's no where near as good as Clichy.
He's better defensively, but I don't think he'll be a long term prospect.
He'll be more of a prospect than Hoyte is on the right, but once Pedro arrives, he'll be under real pressure, and will likely be third choice LB.

If anyone has seen the highlights, the opposition keeper was shocking.
He let in two own goals, failed to clear a basic shot for a third and was beaten by a deflection.

Although he played LB, he is not by trade a LB. He is a CM.
But could be an option if Clichy gets injured (hopefully not). Im also waiting to see the return of Traore, who is about a year ahead, and can play either LM or LB. And very very quick as well.
But both have big potential, and with Gibbs being English keeps the Spuds and Man Utd ferals off our backs for not producing enough English players.

Gibbs was a left winger before he became a LB, he's never been a CM.
Traore was a LB, but he's become more of a LW recently because he's great on offense, but not as good as some other players in defence.

I agree Traore was playing some great football last season... he has some serious pace and likes to run at defenders.... As long as we get the CB pairing sorted we are in for a great season IMO.

I reckon we're in for a good season regardless of the CD pairing.
Gallas and Toure had a lot of clean sheets.
The most important thing is to stay injury free.

As long as we sell Cesc and get a decent midfielder to play alongside Arshavin, I agree!

Wait until the next season starts and you'll appreciate how good Cesc is and how much we'll miss him if he goes.

I have a feeling that Wenger may be looking at Veraelen to play DM.. he has been known to play there and usually chips in with a hand full of goals every season... at 6ft and being very agreesive he may be the man to play in there.. remember Petit was a left back when we signed him and he went on to be a DM even at international level.. I think Wenger has seen something in the way Song has played a CB and may be looking to utilise him there and Vermaelen as a DM option.... we will see...

I'd hold Clichy.
He's a bloody good LB, could be the best in the world.
Traore will become a LW next season, so it's really just Clichy with Gibbs as a backup.

I actually can't think of any obvious errors that Sagna made this season, although, like any defender, I'm sure he made a few.
Clichy is still a fantastic defender, it's just he's made some high profile mistakes, like slipping over against Spurs and letting them get a draw, giving away a penalty against Birmingham last season and was at fault for the goal that Man City scored last season in the 3-1 win also.

Lol!
I'm just stirring. Seems so many of us ride Cesc like he's DB or something. Like he IS Arsenal or without him Arsenal is sh!te or some crap. I'd still love the club whether Cesc is with us or not. Matter of fact, I'd love the club more should we have Ibrahimovic or Messi and no Cesc. Ok maybe not but the point is, whoever plays for us, I'd love Arsenal the same way.
None of you really took the bait but...
Looks like he's going to Barca anyway!

Re: Kieran Gibbs
No way is Clichy possibly the best LB in the world. Gibbs will push for his spot in the team next season you watch.

Time for Traore to step up. I'm surprised he didn't get more of a chance earlier this season.
