Perth 2026 National Meet

AASC National Meet – Perth 2026 – Member email
Hi there Gooners.
After a long 8 years since our last event there, we are taking the National Meet back over to Perth. We enjoyed a memorable trip over to the West last time and look forward to creating new memories this time as well.
This year’s Meet will be held from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th May.
For the recently joined Members here, the traditional National Meet has occurred every year since the Club originated back in 2007 when we achieved official status as an AFC Supporters Club. It has grown over the years, enabling us to get together to celebrate being Arsenal Fans, meet new Gooners and catch up with old Friends.

National Meet Weekend Activity Schedule
Friday 22nd May – 7pm- 10pm

As per usual we kick the weekend off with the traditional Gooner Gathering Meet & Greet event.
As Gooners arrive from their various places of origin we will meet up at The Globe https://theglobeperth.com.au/ located in the heart of the Perth CBD for an informal welcome over finger food and refreshing drinks. During this event we’ll outline the specific arrangements for the Events to be held over the weekend. The Schedule below however, provides you with an outline of what’s to come.

Saturday 23rd May
We will rise bright and early for our second event of the weekend and meet at 8am at Pier No.3 at Barrack Street Jetty in the CBD. Once gathered there we will be boarded on the Sealink Ferry that takes us off down the Swan River to Fremantle and over to Rottnest Island. On the 1.5 hour Ferry ride we’ll need to keep our eyes peeled to see marine wildlife such as Dolphins or Rays. No dangling over the edge though, as we don’t want to encourage any leaping Shark fins! Once on the Island, we will explore the Island which is famous for its Lighthouses, beaches, and of course the native inhabitants, the Quokkas.
Whilst on the Island you are free to roam during the day. Right next to the Ferry Terminal in Thomson Bay you can hire bikes all day for $35 (includes helmets & lock) or a Snorkel/flippers set for $23. For those with sore heads or feeling less energetic, there are easy walks or they can stroll over to the various cafes and restaurants for refreshments and take in the views. We will leave to head back to the City on the 4.30pm Ferry arriving back at approximately 6pm.
There will be time for a break before we gather again in the early evening at 7.30pm for the AASC Annual Member Dinner event at The Globe. The Arsenal Trivia event will then follow the Dinner, requiring us to use our grey matter to recall obscure facts relating to all things Arsenal. As usual Spot prizes will be given out during the Event with the winning Team receiving a Team prize and all the accompanying puffing out of chests that comes with the glory of winning!

Sunday 24th May
Sunday kicks off with our usual first event of the day, the Annual General Meeting (AGM). This is an event that will also be held in The Globe. As an official Supporters Club, Arsenal expect us to conduct this meeting every year. It does however, take place at the reasonable time of 10am, enabling us to crawl out of our beds, grab a strong coffee and participate.
Whilst it is not compulsory to attend the AGM, the event does provide us with the opportunity to discuss the Supporters Club activities throughout the States during the past year, review the Finances and explore new ideas to improve ourselves. In addition we will discuss any changes relating to roles and personnel changes within the Club organisational structure.
Following the AGM, we will head onto Optus Stadium over at Burswood for the afternoon. There we will enjoy a 1.5 hour guided tour of the Stadium. This event will begin at 1pm. Directly after the Tour we will head over to the Parklands opposite the stadium for a late BBQ Lunch to refuel. I’m sure the local Perth Gooners will produce a Football and a kickabout will breakout. This event will run through to approx 4pm following which we will all head back to the City to refresh ourselves in whatever form that takes!
After a break for those keen to spice up their early evening, we will head over to Balti, an Indian Restaurant, located at 3/2 St Georges Terrace, for our traditional Gooner Curry Night at 6.30pm. This has become a firm favourite over the years, especially with the Ex-Pats.
Please note this event is an optional extra and not subsidised by AASC. Restaurant bookings are limited though so you will need to get in quick if you are eager to join us for this one.
Finally, we stagger back to The Globe to watch our final match of the Season kicking off at 11pm against Crystal Palace as part of Super Sunday. I’m sure none of you will want to miss out on watching the Season finale, so get a power snooze in to re-charge for one last massive singalong with fellow Gooners and hopefully celebrate a long-awaited successful ending to the Season.
